Overall, I love this lock. The magic of not having to carry keys or deal with a separate lock is pretty darn neat. My only two qualms: - Bluetooth tech is imperfect - this is true of every bluetooth device I've used. Sometimes it can take a while to pair to unlock, or you have restart the app. - The alarm noise could be quieter when you lock / unlock, and much louder when actually an alarm Thinking of upgrading to the LINKA Leo, since the addition of a GPS tracker makes a killer security combo.

This concept is so cool! USB charging and phone app controlled (with manual backup). I was concerned that this lock would not fit on my recumbent trike. It is a tight fit, but I was able to zip-tie the lock to the chain stays with barely enough clearance to allow my rear tire to turn without rubbing on the fender. I used metal zip ties (the plastic ones are weak) and placed the fender between the lock and the tire--close fit! I like the battery capacity--long time between charges. I use this lock in conjunction with the standard chain (I live in a relatively rural area). This combination gives me peace of mind when I leave my trike in public places. I have been frustrated with the occasional lack of communication between my phone and the lock. Apparently, the Bluetooth function sometimes fails. In those instances, I have to turn off Bluetooth on my phone (iPhone 7 Plus with the latest updates) and turn it on again. This usually works, but sometimes I have to do this two or more times. I tell you, I was panicked when this happened while I was over 200 miles from home! This "lack of communication" continues to be a problem, albeit a manageable one. I would not trade this lock for any other I have seen.
Nice concept but some issues.
My Linka and chain arrived prior to Christmas. I thought I had ordered a Silver LINKA, but I was send a black one. The holes to mount the Linka to my Benelli Classica Electric to not match mounts on seat stays. Disappointing. I have been able to center it and mount it using seat stay screw mount on one side, and mounting straps on other side. The lock.does work as advertised, so I am pleased with the operation and security it brings. The bicycle is white, and the black.straps look.bad. (I think the Silver would look better than the black too.) so whilst operation is good, I am not 100% happy with the looks. It IS a great bike lock security wise, and operationally.
